Two trades, two problems, and people pay the wrong one every day. If the keys are on the seat, in the ignition or in the trunk, you need car lockout service: someone to open the door. If the key is lost, snapped, or the fob is dead and there is no spare, you need an automotive locksmith: someone to make a key. We open doors. We do not cut or program keys, and if you describe a lost key on the phone we will tell you to call a locksmith rather than send a truck that cannot help.
A lockout is not done with a coat hanger. An inflatable wedge opens a gap at the top of the door, and a long-reach tool presses the unlock button or lifts the handle from inside. Nothing touches the lock cylinder or the wiring. It takes a few minutes on most cars; a handful with deadlocking doors take longer, and on a few the honest answer is a locksmith after all.
The cost is $129 flat, booking fee included, with no hook-up and no mileage because the car does not move. We will ask for identification before the door opens, because that is the only thing separating a lockout service from a theft service. The lockout guide covers trunks, fobs and the rest; the cost guide covers the bill.
